Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary
Introduction
The Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary is the Fourth and final set of Rosary Mysteries depicting the additional events in the life of Jesus Christ. The Rosary Events from Scripture in this mystery include the Baptism of Jesus, the Wedding at Cana, Declaring the Kingdom, the Transfiguration of Jesus, and the Eucharist. The Luminous Mysteries were added by Pope John Paul II in 2002.
If the praying of the Glorious Mysteries includes reading of the scriptures that are provided, it will take about forty five minutes to complete. This is recommended.
Why a Daily Devotion to the Rosary?
I have not, as of yet, found any prayers available that are more powerful and sustaining than the Holy Rosary. Below is a list of serious situations I have endured since 2012 of which the Rosary has been my only sustainging prayer.
- Personal encounters with the Virgin Mary
- A Bout with Alcohol Addiction
- A Widow Maker on a Golf Course and Death
- A Conversion to Catholicism
Through the experiences mentioned above, the Rosary has been my daily devotion. I would not be here today without the aid of the Virgin Mary or the daily recitation of the Holy Rosary. I have reaped tremendous, life-changing benefits from this simple daily prayer and there are more to come.
On Which Days are the Luminous Mysteries included to be Prayed?
The Luminous Mysteries are included in:
Opening Prayers
Queen of the Holy Rosary Prayer
Queen of the Holy Rosary,
you have deigned to come to Fatima to reveal to the three shepherd children
the treasures of grace hidden in the Rosary.
Inspire my heart with a sincere love of this devotion,
in order that by meditating on the Mysteries of our Redemption
which are recalled in it,
I may be enriched with its fruits and obtain peace for the world,
the conversion of sinners and of Russia,
and the favor which I ask of you in this Rosary.
(Mention your request here)
I ask it for the greater glory of God,
for your own honor, and for the good of souls,
especially for my own.
Amen.
Sign of the Cross
In the Name Of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
(As you say this, with your right hand touch your forehead when you say Father, touch your breastbone when you say Son, touch your left shoulder when you say Holy, and touch your right shoulder when you say Spirit.)
Apostles Creed
I believe in God,
the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ,
His only Son,
our Lord;
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified,
died, and was buried.
He descended into hell;
the third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right hand of God,
the Father Almighty;
from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church,
the communion of Saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen.
Our Father
Our Father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
Amen
Hail Mary

full of grace,
the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Glory Be to the Father
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
Fatima Prayer
O my Jesus,
forgive us our sins,
save us from the fires of hell,
lead all souls to Heaven,
especially those who have most need of your mercy.
Amen.
Five Luminous Mysteries
Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to the Jordan, unto John, to be baptized by him. But John stayed him, saying: I ought to be baptized by thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering, said to him: Suffer it to be so now. For so it becometh us to fulfill all justice. Then he suffered him. And Jesus being baptized, forthwith came out of the water: and lo, the heavens were opened to him: and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon him. And behold a voice from heaven, saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (Matthew 3:13-17)

And the third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee: the mother of Jesus was there.
Jesus also was invited, and his disciples, to the marriage. And the wine failing, the mother of Jesus saith to him: They have no wine. Jesus saith to her: Woman, what is that to me and to thee? my hour is not yet come. His mother saith to the waiters: Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye.
Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three measures apiece. Jesus saith to them: Fill the waterpots with water. They filled them up to the brim. And Jesus saith to them: Draw out now, and carry to the chief steward of the feast. And they carried it.
When the chief steward had tasted the water made wine, and knew not whence it was, but the waiters knew who had drawn the water; the chief steward calleth the bridegroom, And saith to him: Every man at first setteth forth good wine, and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse. But thou hast kept the good wine until now.
This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee; and manifested his glory, and his disciples believed in him. After this he went down to Capharnaum, he and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they remained there not many days. (John 2:1-12)

After six days Jesus taketh unto him Peter and James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into a high mountain apart: And he was transfigured before them. His face did shine as the sun: and his garments became white as snow. And behold there appeared to them Moses and Elias talking with him. And Peter answering, said to Jesus: Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. As he was yet speaking, behold a bright cloud overshadowed them. And lo, a voice out of the cloud, saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased: hear ye him.
And the disciples hearing, fell upon their face, and were very much afraid. Jesus came and touched them: and said to them, Arise, and fear not. And they lifting up their eyes saw no one but only Jesus.
And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying: Tell the vision to no man, till the Son of man be risen from the dead. (Matthew 17:1-9)

Salve Regina (Hail Holy Queen)
Hail, holy Queen,
Mother of Mercy!
our life,
our sweetness,
and our hope!
To thee do we cry,
poor banished children of Eve;
to thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn, then,
most gracious Advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us;
and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb,
Jesus;
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us,
O Holy Mother of God,
that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

The Rosary has been in use for about 810 years given by the Holy Trinity, through the Virgin Mary, to Dominic de Guzman in 1214 (according to “The Secret of the Rosary,” a book by St. Louis de Montfort) in Pouille, France.
When the author began praying the Rosary thirteen years ago, he did not own a set of Rosary beads and instead used his fingers. Seven days later, Our Lady made her presence known, and the author experienced the Odor of Sanctification.
Whether specific graces are uniquely tied to praying the Luminous Mysteries remains uncertain. However, the author attests that the Virgin Mary bestows graces upon those who pray the Rosary with devotion, having personally experienced these blessings.
