Purpose and Introduction

Welcome to our Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary PDF page. At Two Percent Survival, having prayed the Rosary virtually every day for the last 15 years, we know how difficult it can be with the distractions, scheduling, and everything else that comes with a daily devotion.

To make daily devotions easier, we provide an indispensable and easily accessible resource for meditating on the Passion of Christ through the five Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary. It offers Scripture  passages, all mysteries, opening prayers, decades, and closing prayers—a complete Rosary to help individuals deepen their relationship with Jesus, especially in times of suffering or during the liturgical seasons of Lent and Holy Week. Our downloadable PDF is designed for personal devotion, group prayer, or parish use, making it easy to pray and reflect anytime, anywhere. Through this page, visitors are invited to unite their hearts with Christ in His suffering and discover the redemptive power of the Cross.

On June 11, 2017, I suffered a widow maker heart attack and died instantly without any chance of preparing for this great event that everyone must experience.  The importance of daily prayer was made known to me at this time, and I was told that the Rosary was the prayer I was to use. We created an easy-to-use and downloadable PDF document for the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary to aid anyone who desires to use the Rosary daily. Links to the Joyful, Sorrowful, and Luminous Mysteries PDF documents are located at the bottom of this page.

I encourage everyone to take advantage of this free download. We would like to encourage you to share and distribute this PDF freely; that is the purpose of our creating it.

Our Lady's Desire

Dolorosa - Bartolomé Esteban Murillo

Our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mary, led me into the Catholic Church in 2019.  This website and its topics and content is my effort to repay and honor her for leading me through alcoholism, a widowmaker heart attack and death and, of course, my catholic conversion.

In my opinion, it is her desire that as many as possible should use these prayers daily and walk down the path that she and her Son have layed out for us. There is no better way to walk this path than through a daily practice of the Rosary

Why Use a PDF Guide to Pray The Rosary?

Using a Rosary PDF to pray the Sorrowful Mysteries brings focus, peace, and structure to your prayer. Whether you’re just beginning a Rosary study or you’ve prayed it for years, a guide like this helps deepen both the prayer and the faith behind it.

Here are seven reasons why using a
PDF guide is beneficial for anyone seeking to deepen their prayer life and draw closer to the life of Christ through the Sorrowful Mysteries.

1. Clear and Consistent

A good guide to the Mysteries lays out each step in a simple format. You don’t have to guess what comes next or worry about forgetting a prayer. The layout is consistent, which brings confidence and peace. It helps beginners stay on track and keeps long-time devotees focused. It’s the same every time, and that kind of consistency builds habit—and habit strengthens prayer.

2. Printable and Shareable

One major advantage of a Rosary PDF is how easy it is to print and share. You can use it at home, in a prayer group, or pass it out at a parish event. It works great for family prayer, catechism classes, and RCIA sessions. Some people print it for their parish’s Rosary Confraternity, so every member has the same prayers and reflections.

3. Helps You Stay Focused

It’s easy to lose focus during the Rosary, especially when praying alone. A PDF guide helps keep the mind on track. Many include meditations that tie the sorrowful mysteries to real parts of Christ’s life. This keeps the spirit engaged and turns routine prayer into something richer. A focused Rosary draws more fruit because the heart is truly involved.

4. Great for Teaching

Teaching others to pray the Rosary can be hard if they don’t know the flow. A printable Rosary PDF makes this easy. It walks new people through the beads, step by step. It’s especially helpful in rosary groups or when guiding kids and teens. It also builds unity—everyone is on the same page, literally. That helps the group pray as one.

5. Includes Extras Like Meditations and Scripture

A quality PDF mysteries guide doesn’t just list prayers. It adds short meditations or Bible verses to each mystery. This turns the Sorrowful Mysteries into a moment of reflection. For example, reading Christ’s words in the garden—“Not My will, but Thine be done” (Luke 22:42)—can stir the soul and help you offer your own struggles with Him. These extras feed both heart and spirit.

6. No Internet or App Needed

Once downloaded, a Rosary PDF works anywhere. You don’t need Wi-Fi or a phone signal. You can pray in a chapel, on a retreat, or in a quiet corner at home. This is great for older Catholics or those who want to pray without tech distractions. It’s reliable. And in today’s world, that’s refreshing.

7. Free and Reusable

Most Rosary PDF files are free to use and keep. Print it once, and it’s yours.  Some people download it to their phone or tablet. It can be reused daily, weekly, or however often you pray. It’s a low-cost, high-value way to stay close to the Rosary.

The Rosary leads the faithful deeper into the life of Christ, especially through the Mysteries Sorrowful. A PDF guide supports that prayer. It brings structure, teaches the rhythm of the beads, and feeds both mind and spirit. Whether you’re praying alone or as a family, this simple tool can help you pray better and love Christ more.

What are the Sorrowful Mysteries?

Agony in the Garden

Rosary Mysteries - The Agony in the Garden

And going out, he went, according to his custom, to the mount of Olives. And his disciples also followed him.

And when he was come to the place, he said to them: Pray, lest ye enter into temptation. And he was withdrawn away from them a stone’s cast; and kneeling down, he prayed, Saying: Father, if thou wilt, remove this chalice from me: but yet not my will, but thine be done.   (More from Agony in the Garden)

Scourging at the Pillar

Rosary Mysteries - The Scourging at the Pillar

And Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, saying: Art thou the king of the Jews? Jesus saith to him: Thou sayest it. And when he was accused by the chief priests and ancients, he answered nothing. Then Pilate saith to him: Dost not thou hear how great testimonies they allege against thee? And he answered him to never a word; so that the governor wondered exceedingly.

Now upon the solemn day the governor was accustomed to release to the people one prisoner, whom they would.

Crowning with Thorns

Rosary Mysteries - The Crowning with Thorns

Then the soldiers of the governor taking Jesus into the hall, gathered together unto him the whole band; And stripping him, they put a scarlet cloak about him. And platting a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand. And bowing the knee before him, they mocked him, saying: Hail, king of the Jews. And spitting upon him, they took the reed, and struck his head. And after they had mocked him, they took off the cloak from him, and put on him his own garments, and led him away to crucify him.

Carrying of the Cross

Rosary Mysteries - The Carrying of the Cross

And as they led him away, they laid hold of one Simon of Cyrene, coming from the country; and they laid the cross on him to carry after Jesus.

And there followed him a great multitude of people, and of women, who bewailed and lamented him.

But Jesus turning to them, said: Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not over me; but weep for yourselves, and for your children.

Crucifixion of Christ

Rosary Mysteries - The Crucifixion of Christ

Now there stood by the cross of Jesus, his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalen.

When Jesus therefore had seen his mother and the disciple standing whom he loved, he saith to his mother: Woman, behold thy son. After that, he saith to the disciple: Behold thy mother. And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own.

What are the Prayers?

Queen of the Holy Rosary

Queen of the Holy Rosary,
you have deigned to come to Fatima to reveal to the three shepherd children
the treasures of grace hidden in the Rosary.
Inspire my heart with a sincere love of this devotion,
in order that by meditating on the Mysteries of our Redemption
which are recalled in it,
I may be enriched with its fruits and obtain peace for the world,
the conversion of sinners and of Russia,
and the favor which I ask of you in this Rosary.

(Mention your request here)

I ask it for the greater glory of God,
for your own honor, and for the good of souls,
especially for my own.
Amen.

Sign of the Cross

In the Name Of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Apostles Creed

I believe in God,
the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ,
His only Son,
our Lord;
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified,
died, and was buried.
He descended into hell;
the third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right hand of God,
the Father Almighty;
from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church,
the communion of Saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen.

Our Father

Our Father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
Amen

Hail Mary

Hail Mary,
full of grace,
the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory Be

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Fatima Prayer

O my Jesus,
forgive us our sins,
save us from the fires of hell,
lead all souls to Heaven,
especially those who have most need of your mercy.
Amen.

Hail Holy Queen (Salve Regina)

Hail, holy Queen,
Mother of Mercy!
our life,
our sweetness,
and our hope!
To thee do we cry,
poor banished children of Eve;
to thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn, then,
most gracious Advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us;
and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb,
Jesus;
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us,
O Holy Mother of God,
that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Rosary Closing Prayer

O God,
whose only begotten Son has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life,
Grant that we beseech Thee
while meditating upon these mysteries
of the Most Holy Rosary
of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
we may both imitate what they contain
and obtain what they promise,
through the same Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Fatima Pardon Prayer

My God,
I believe,
I adore,
I hope,
and I love You.
I beg pardon of You for those who do not believe,
do not adore,
do not hope,
and do not love You.
